Through the Institute for Child Success’s (ICS) Strong Nation initiative, ICS collaborates closely with former Council for a Strong America staff and members to ensure that Fight Crime: Invest in Kids, ReadyNation, and Mission: Readiness continue to thrive at both the national level and in those states with established offices working to promote the programs.
Since 2006, ReadyNation members have made a bottom-line case for effective, bipartisan investments in infants, toddlers, and older children as the future workforce that will drive success in the global marketplace.
ReadyNation is proud to call the National Collaborative for Infants and Toddlers (NCIT) its new home for work outside of Illinois, Maine, Mississippi, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Washington, where staff on the ground are leading state-wide efforts. NCIT was created in 2017 as a vehicle to connect a diverse group of advocates, system leaders, philanthropy, researchers, policy experts and practitioners at the federal, state and local level who shared a common interest in addressing the needs of our nation’s youngest children. By 2022, the American Heart Association (AHA) – through its Voices for Healthy Kids project – became the steward of NCIT, which has allowed the work to build on its original purpose, strengthen its support to advocates, and increase its impact on prenatal-to-3 investments.
