Ideas for Increasing Capital to Childcare Centers during COVID-19 Outbreak
July 7 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join us to walk through ideas of how to increase the flow of capital into the childcare sector using tax policy and other financial mechanisms.
Through a recent childcare center survey, ICS found that centers across South Carolina were experiencing unprecedented challenges due to COVID-19. Most notably 48% of centers were forced to close and on average, each center lost $50,000 as a result of the epidemic. With the economy reopening, childcare has been realized to be at the foundation of the economy with as many as 200,000 children needing childcare in order for their parents to get back to work. Yet, due a shortage in capital, childcare centers may not have the ability to reopen thereby removing a critical and necessary sector.
