As the Director of Science Communication, Katie Hammond, MPH (she/her) leads the strategy, management, and coordination of ICS’s suite of educational tools and resources, including the IMPACT Measures Tool, an interactive database of early childhood and parenting measures. IMPACT empowers individuals and organizations from all areas of the early childhood field to search for, compare, and access measurement tools that best fit the needs of their communities.

Katie’s current and past roles focus on translating complex scientific concepts into accessible language and tools. Previously, Katie worked at Johnson & Johnson Health and Wellness Solutions Inc. as a Product Content Developer, assisting in the creation of websites and apps that support the health of patients with a variety of health concerns, ranging from smoking cessation and heart health to insomnia.

In addition to science communication, she has experience in project management, public health, content development, and program development/implementation/evaluation. She earned an MPH in Health Behavior and Health Education from the University of Michigan, with a focus on health equity, health communication, and global health. She also holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Kansas.
